Senior Governance Advisor

Gifty Adika, PhD

Dr. (Mrs.) Gifty Adika (née Hanson) is a Senior Governance Advisor at ACEPA. Her experience spans two decades working with Members of Parliament and Parliamentary Staff in Ghana and in the African subregion. Dr. (Mrs.) Adika is also a former Lecturer at the University of Ghana with close to a decade’s experience lecturing at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

She has also worked as a consultant for a number of organizations including the World Bank, CODE, IDEG, CSIR and UNECA. She is the National Parliamentary Advisor and Office Manager for the Inclusive Legislatures for Gender Responsive Policies (ILGRP) Project with the Parliament of Ghana and the National Assembly of Togo. ILGRP is a Global Affairs Canada (GAC) – funded project being implemented by ACEPA in partnership with Parliamentary Centre, Ottawa, Canada. Dr. (Mrs.) Adika has expertise in parliamentary development and information management and a passion for adopting innovative need-based approaches to the development and implementation of capacity enhancement initiatives for Members of Parliament, Parliamentary staff and members of representative Assemblies. Dr. (Mrs.) Adika has a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana).

She also possesses the following qualifications: Master of Library Service (MLS), Rutgers University (USA); Master of Philosophy (MPHIL) in Library Studies, University of Ghana (Ghana); Master of Arts (MA) in Information Management, Thames Valley University (UK); Post Graduate Diploma in Information Management, Thames Valley University (UK), and a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (with a Diploma in Education) from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana).
